Background + Approach

In 2020, Revivicor, a subsidiary of United Therapeutics Corporation, received a first of its kind approval from the FDA for use of GalSafeTM pigs for xenotransplantation and as a source of food for human consumption. GalSafeTM pigs are the worlds first alpha-gal free pigs, providing a source of meet for people suffering from alpha-gal syndrome. In 2022, a UHeartTM from a GalSafeTM pig established a new record for longest surviving recipient of a xenotransplantation product.

Interactive Nature approached the branding with a focus on color to communicate the the defining elements driving the GalSafeTM brand. The GalSafeTM gray serves to reflect the connection to industry, specifically the manufacturing of organs that will be used to save human lives. The pink helix is symbolic of the GalSafeTM pigs that have been genetically modified to inactivate the epitope galactose alpha-1-3 galactose (alpha-gal).

Interactive Nature provided the initial branding and identity development, along with an interactive brand identity kit outlining the style guidelines associated with the unique GalSafeTM brand.
